Welcome to the community 🧶
Hook & Loop is HobbyHopper's home for crochet, knitting, and all things yarn. Whether you just bought your first set of hooks or you're spinning your own fiber — you belong here. We're a warm, encouraging, and just slightly yarn-obsessed group of makers.
We run weekly "WIP Wednesday" threads, monthly pattern-alongs, gear swaps, and skill challenges for every level. Our members range from complete beginners to professional designers who sell patterns and finished objects worldwide.

Time to first project
Most beginners complete their first small project (a swatch or simple flat piece) within 1–2 hours. A full wearable item typically takes 2–8 weeks depending on complexity.
Startup cost
You can start crochet or knitting for as little as $15–$30. A beginner hook/needle set and a skein of yarn is all you need. Use HopperCredit to make it even cheaper.
Skill ceiling
Extremely high. From basic stitches to complex colorwork, lace, and sculptural amigurumi — there's always something new to learn. Many Hoppers never stop discovering.
Community vibe
Warm, generous, and meme-fluent. Yarn people are notorious for "enabling" each other's stash purchases and celebrating every finish, big or small.
